Swakopmund's climate is heavily influenced by the cold Atlantic Benguela current as well as the surrounding Namib Desert. The city features comfortable temperatures all year round, ranging from 15 to 25 degrees Celsius (59 - 77 Fahrenheit). As expected from its location in the desert, it is also dry in Swakopmund, with average of 37 mm of precipitation throughout the entire year. Summer runs from December to February, and is the rainiest season. However, rainiest is relative in this case, with an average of only between 5 and 10 mm of rain a month during the season.
